  • Why the name? Are you using AI (artificial intelligence)?
I named my firm Family Ai! Financial because I view all my clients as part of my family. “Ai” means love in Taiwanese. It’s also the most important aspect of life in terms of my beliefs.
  • Who do you serve?
We work with folks getting close to retirement and retirees. From my experience, this can feel like a crucial juncture. You’ve spent your entire career saving and now have your life savings to draw from. It’s the first time you’ve made the big shift from saving to spending and can’t afford to make mistakes. Our clients value the expertise and experience we bring, as we’ve helped thousands of clients over the years achieve success as defined by them.
  • What’s most important to you?
Relationships. It always comes back to the relationship; not just for my firm, but in my life. It’s one thing to provide standardized advice based on all the research that’s been done. From my experience, there is another, higher level of advice I can provide once we’ve gotten to know each other intimately. And I fully understand this takes time. It’s not just about me and you; it’s about your circle of family and friends, as it’s all connected.
  • What’s the profile of clients you tend to work with?
My clients are very open with me as I am with them. They might initially not feel what they are sharing is relevant, but eventually realize it’s all connected to what we’re doing. My clients also tend to be very active socially and physically. They spend a lot of time with their family and friends. We even exchange workout ideas and share our experiences with shared and unique hobbies. A lot of my clients are active in their community too, especially with volunteering. And I think this all goes back to being filled with love-ai! For the clients that I’ve worked with longer, we usually spend most of the time talking about health, family updates, and recent travels.
  • How do you charge?
We charge in a way where our success is aligned. The more success I can help you achieve, more success we achieve together. Our success is directly correlated with each other. The way this works is as a percentage of the assets that I manage for you. I’m happy to explain more when we talk. If you’re looking for the lowest fee, that’s not us. If you’re willing to pay a fee in line with industry averages for a higher value over the long term, that’s us.

About Me

Committed to Your Financial Success

My entire career has been in financial services directly helping my clients reach their goals. I’ve had the privilege of working for the largest and most well-respected firms in the world. With this experience over the course of almost two decades, I wanted to take the best aspects of each firm and combine them into my own. This is the driving force for me to go fully independent: this allows me to help my clients in the best ways possible.

My commitment has always been for my clients to feel like family and be served with love. I believe with this as the foundation of our relationships, everything else falls into place.

On a personal note, I have 2 younger brothers who both live in VA. My parents are retired and split their time between VA and Taiwan as they care for their parents alongside the rest of my extended family there. I try to visit my elders in Taiwan as often as I can to enjoy their final chapters with them. I pray I will soon have a big family of my own, and that my parents, grandparents, and extended family can all enjoy the time together.

Mission

My mission is to help my clients and their families reach their goals by using their finances as a means to maximize their fulfillment in this chapter of their lives. I treat my clients like they are part of my family built on a foundation of love. This naturally leads to taking care of them as best as I can.

Vision

My vision is to help my clients over the long term. Long term to me means not just over their lifetimes, but their children’s, grandchildren’s and on. I pray that I will have my own family one day and my family members will be able to continue the legacy. Not only would they continue it, but do it even better than the last.
